Mario

En 1989 y a la edad de 16 años inicio como aprendiz en el taller de un artesano el oficio del vidrio fundido a soplete. A partir de 1992 comienzo a trabajar y a experimentar en mi propio taller. En el año 2002 traslado mi residencia y mi taller de Buenos Aires a Madrid. Comienzo a realizar cursos de perfeccionamiento entre los cuales se destacan el Vidrio Soplado con Soplete, el Vidrio Soplado en Horno, Roll-Up (Soplado de Termofundidos), Cuentas de Vidrio japonesas, etc. También he impartido cursos y talleres en empresas privadas, en el Centre del Vidre de Barcelona, en el Museo de Vidrio de Alcorcón, y en mi propio taller.

In 1989, at the age of 16, I started as an apprentice in the workshop of an artisan, the task of melting glass with a blow torch. After 1992, I began working and experimenting in my own workshop. In 2002, I transferred my home and shop from Buenos Aires to Madrid. I began taking improvement courses amongst which stands out Glass Blowing with Torch, Oven – Blown Glass, Roll-Up, Japanese Glass Beads. I´ve also done workshops and courses in private businesses, in the Glass Center in Barcelona, in the Museum of Glass in Alcorcón, and in my own shop.

Im Jahre 1989 im Alter von 16 Jahren gehe ich bei einem Kunsthandwerker in Lehre, um das Handwerk des Glasbläsers zu erlernen. Seit 1992 beginne ich in meiner eigenen Werkstatt zu arbeiten und zu experimentieren. 2002 verlege ich meinen Wohnsitz und meine Werkstatt von Buenos Aires nach Madrid. Hier bilde ich mich weiter und perfektioniere mein Handwerk in verschiedenen Techniken wie Glasblasen mit Schweissbrenner, im Ofen, Roll-Up, Japanische Glasbläserkunst, etc. Auch gebe ich Kurse und Workshops in Privatunternehmen, im Centre del Vidre de Barcelona (Glasbläserzentrum Barcelona), im Museo de Vidrio de Alcorcón (Glasmuseum Alcorcón) und in meiner eigenen Werkstatt.

Comencé a desarrollarme en éste oficio en el año 2004. He descubierto un mundo nuevo, lleno de color y transparencia. Gracias a Mario, he tenido el primer contacto con el vidrio y posteriormente fui realizando distintos cursos en los cuales desarrollé diferentes técnicas, entre ellas se encuentran el de Fusing y el Termoformado, la Pasta de Vidrio, Perlas, Escultura realizada en soplete y Nivel avanzado de Fusing con Miriam Di Fiore.

I began my development in this specialty in 2004. I´ve discovered a whole new world, full of color and transparency. Thanks to Mario, I had my first encounter with glass and then began taking different classes where I developed several different techniques, amongst which is Fusing, Thermoform, Glass Paste, Beads, Sculpting with torch and an advanced Level of Fusing with Miriam Di Fiore.

Meine persönliche Entwicklung in diesem Handwerk beginnt im Jahre 2004. Für mich tut sich eine neue Welt auf, voll von Farbe und Transparenz. Den ersten Kontakt mit Glas habe ich dank Mario, von da an nehme ich an verschiedenen Kursen teil, um unterschiedliche Techniken zu erlernen, unter anderem Fusing, Termoformado, Glasspaste, Perlen, Skulpturen mit Schweissbrenner und vortgeschrittenes Fusing mit Miriam Di Fiore.

mario-2 El taller está equipado con un soplete de gran potencia, para la realización de grandes piezas y otro mas pequeño para el resto (figuras de pequeño formato, miniaturas, perlas, etc.), un horno de recocido, un horno de fusing. Por último un horno para realizar vidrio soplado que aún está en fase de construcción. En el taller además de realizar nuestro trabajo, también realizamos cursos personalizados en cuentas de vidrio (glass beads).

En estos últimos años hemos estado realizando diferentes talleres de exhibición y participación en ferias artesanales, en el MAVA, Museo de Vidrio de Alcorcón, entre otros.

The workshop is equipped with a big, powerful torch, to produce big pieces and another smaller for everything else (small figurines, miniatures, beads, etc.), a firing oven, a fusing oven, and finally an oven for glass blowing that’s currently still being built. In the workshop, besides our work, we also give private classes in glass beads.

In the past years we´ve done different exhibition workshops and participated in artisan fairs and in the Glass Museum of Alcorcón, amongst others.

Die Werkstatt ist ausgestattet mit einem hochpotentierten Schweissbrenner für die Herstellung grosser Stücke und einem weiteren kleineren für die restliche Produktion (kleinformatige Stücke, Miniaturen, Perlen, usw.), einem Brennofen und einem Schmelzofen. Im Ausbau befindet sich ein weiterer Ofen für geblasenes Glas. Neben unserer eigenen Arbeit veranstalten wir in der Werkstatt Glasbläserkurse (glass beads).

In den letzten Jahren haben wir an verschiedenen Ausstellungen und Handwerksmessen teilgenommen, unter anderem im MAVA, im Glasmuseum Alcorcón.
